Nelson Lakes National Park, located in the heart of New Zealand's South Island, is a stunning natural paradise characterised by its pristine lakes, towering beech forests, and majestic mountain ranges. The park is home to Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotoroa offering crystal-clear waters and great fishing. Lake Rotoiti abounds with a variety of recreational activities, from hiking and biking to canyoning and kayaking. With its diverse landscapes, the park is a haven for hikers, featuring an extensive network of trails ranging from leisurely walks to challenging backcountry routes.


Our Mindful Walks are designed for your pleasure and allow time for you to take in the smells of the beech trees, listen to the birds, breath in fresh air and de-stress.

    1. Lakeside to Whisky Falls, Coldwater Hut and water taxi across lake Rotoiti. Easy 3-4 hrs walk. Path follows the lake in amongst native forest and is undulating. Some stream crossings and walking over scree is required. Beautuful views and birdsong add to the enjoyment. We use the watertaxi to access the track.

    2. Mt Robert Circuit. Moderate 9 km hike thru beautiful native bush over well formed paths however is steep in places but this only requires determination. This circuit route offers amazing views, serenity and birdsong.  Approx 5 hours. Average fitness required for an uphill climb of 550m/1700’

    • Private pick up and drop off from your accommodation in Nelson or Blenheim.

    • Approx 1.5 hr transfer time to the Nelson Lakes.

    • An experienced driver guide to ensure your safety during the walk/hike ( she will carry a PLB, a First Aid Kit ). 

    • Watertaxi if applicable.

    • Lunch and snacks are included.

    • We can tailor the walks to suit your (family ) group.
